Carmen Scott manages an extensive medical malpractice and prescription drug practice at Motley Rice. She works with a local and national network of co-counsel lawyers to represent and educate clients harmed by defective pharmaceutical products or medical negligence. Carmen serves on the Plaintiffs Steering Committee in the In Re: NuvaRing Products Liability Litigation multidistrict litigation on behalf of plaintiffs allegedly injured by the use of the NuvaRing contraceptive.
Before concentrating her efforts on the medical practice area, Carmen litigated products liability, personal injury and business litigation cases for both plaintiffs and defendants. She has represented numerous clients in jury trials.
Carmen also periodically lectures on medical litigation topics, including plaintiffs’ rights in medical negligence and dangerous drug cases. She is a member of the American Association for Justice, the American Bar Association, the South Carolina Association for Justice and the South Carolina Women Lawyers Association.
